Passover/Easter

I had a really fun Passover with my cousins. I ate a lot, and we sold the afikommen to Uncle Billy for a whole five bucks...each! That was for me and Hannah and Amanda. The adults didn't get to play. We didn't take any pictures though. Sorry...it was passover dude!

Then on Saturday, JieJie and Danielle came over and we dyed Easter eggs!  JieJie also brought me a lots of bubbles and silly string.  We made some real cool eggs, and I don't want to eat them now.

Happy Springtime Passover Easter to all!

The Doctor will see you now!

Well, it took 4 years but Aden has finally decided on a career and we couldn't be happier.  We are presently filling out applications for med school and though we're leaning towards Harvard, we're open to Stanford and Yale.  In the meantime, Aden will practice surgery on PoPo and Wiggles, two of her stuffed animals.

Chinese New Year

It is the year or the Ox, and we celebrated it's arrival with a very fun dinner and party at the Empress Pavilion in Chinatown, Los Angeles. The party was given by the L.A. chapter of Families With Children From China. I got to see my friend Natalie, who I met almost 2 years ago, and meet some new friends too.

This is Abby, who I met at the party. She is three and a half and was born in Jianxi province.

And that is Taylor with me and Abby...she is two and was born in Hunan province.

Now I'm getting grumpy. Too many pictures. That is Natalie in back wearing red. Natalie is almost four and she was born in Guangdong province. I don't know her friend in pink, but she is nice.

I made this at dinner.

Now, It's time for the lion dance.

I am ready to feed the lion a red envelope...for good luck!

After the big show...the kids get to try out the little dragon.

I'm the head!

Growl!

I had a great time at my Chinese New Year party!

Off With Their Heads!

Aden and I being frustrated with the state of the nation...decided to bake cupcakes in honor of the French Revolution.
Since it wouldn't be very nice to pull into D.C. with a guillotine...and most of the crooks have gotten away already...we baked some radical cupcakes. Angel cake with dark chocolate frosting...covered with nuts. red sprinkles and a cherry on top.
We decided to call them Off With Their Heads!

Are they done yet?

"I almost look like a real chef!" Aden said.

Aden is so creative and a fantastic artist. This Audrey. She is made of a balloon covered with scotch tape. Her face is drawn on, she wears a hat and sunglasses and has one dreadlock.  She created Audrey 100% on her own.

Audrey waits for the cupcakes. She had to put the sunglasses on because of the flash...you know.

Also...this is Aden as an Indian princess. Her dress came hand delivered from Mumbai. Thanks dad!

That's all for now. Aden sends her love and hopes everyone is doing great!
xoxoxo...that's for hugs and kisses...says Aden.
